Breathe Better, Live Better
Pulmonary Rehab is a treatment program designed for people with chronic lung diseases like COPD, emphysema, and chronic bronchitis. It helps restore them to their highest functioning potential in order to lead a full and satisfying life.
The Oaks at Beaumont provides each part of the Pulmonary Rehab Program by utilizing a collaborative team approach which consists of doctors, nursing staff, rehabilitation therapists, respiratory therapist, psychosocial staff, and dietician. The interdisciplinary team works to reach each patient's personalized goals for medical management, exercise, breathing retraining, education, emotional support, and nutritional counseling.
Upon completion of the Pulmonary Rehab Program, each patient should experience reduced respiratory symptoms and complications, be able to self manage and control breathing, have improved physical conditioning and exercise tolerance, improved emotional well being, and reduced hospitalizations.
